Ligue 1 champions PSG in talks for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen

Reports from Italian transfer market expert, Paolo Bargiggi, indicate that Paris Saint Germain is actively pursuing the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Italian giants AS Napoli.

Negotiations are underway between PSG and Napoli, with discussions centered on a potential deal involving goalkeeper Keylor Navas moving to Naples and midfielder Fabian Ruiz joining PSG.

Bargiggi (via Solo Parisiens) also revealed that PSG’s interest extends beyond Ruiz, with the French champions eyeing Osimhen as well.

According to the website, “During Giuntoli’s trip to Paris a few days ago, it wasn’t just the names of Fabián Ruiz and Keylor Navas that were at the center of the discussion. They also spoke about Victor Osimhen: the Nigerian striker is highly regarded by both the coach Galtier and Campos, who has already had him at Lille. The French club has an option for next season.”

“The profile of Napoli’s number 9 could be interesting, especially since he knows Ligue 1 having played there with Lille in 2019/20 (15 goals in 32 games). With the Italian club, the striker has scored 28 goals in 56 games between 2020 and 2022 despite numerous injuries,” it added.

PSG’s transfer director Luis Campos and club manager Christophe Galtier have expressed admiration for Osimhen, having previously worked with the Super Eagles striker in Lille.

Campos was responsible for bringing Osimhen to France from Sporting Charleroi, where he played under Galtier and netted 15 goals in 32 games for LOSC.
