Legal Approval for Summoning APC Ward Leaders via Village Head Granted to Ganduje

In a recent ruling, a Federal High Court has approved a request made by All Progressives Congress national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, to serve APC Ganduje Ward executives through substituted means, following his suspension from the party.

Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman granted the application on Tuesday, initiated by Ganduje’s legal representative, Hadiza Nasiru Ahmad.

The ward executives, under the leadership of Haladu Gwanjo and eight others, suspended Ganduje from the party on April 15, citing alleged violations.

Earlier, on April 18, the Federal High Court issued an interim order directing all parties to maintain the status quo until the fundamental rights enforcement suit brought by Ganduje against his suspension is heard and determined.

Ganduje is seeking a court declaration that his suspension by the ward executives was illegal and went beyond their powers, as he was not granted a fair chance to defend himself, resulting in a violation of his fundamental rights.

Moreover, Ganduje is pursuing N100 million in general damages from the respondents for the infringement of his right to a fair hearing.

The legal team clarified that once the respondents are served with the court summons through the village head of Ganduje in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, a hearing date will be scheduled.

Separately, on April 17, Justice Usman Na’Abba of the Kano State High Court issued an interim order confirming the suspension of the APC national chairman by his ward executive members.
