Lecturers who are not on IPPIS won’t get February salary – Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, has announced that lecturers who are not registered on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) will not receive their February salary. She made this known during the opening ceremony of a management retreat in Kano on Thursday, March 5.

The minister stated that the purpose of enrolling lecturers on the IPPIS is to combat corruption. Despite resistance from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), she revealed that 55% of its members have been successfully registered on the platform.

Zainab emphasized the importance of the IPPIS in eliminating ghost workers and maximizing efficiency. She also mentioned the identification of up to 70,000 ghost workers through this process, expressing hope for a future with no ghost workers.
