Lassa fever kills four in Kogi

The state Ministry of Health in Kogi has confirmed four deaths out of nine new cases of Lassa Fever. This recent outbreak has led to a total of 31 suspected cases, one probable case, 17 negative cases, nine confirmed cases, and five pending laboratory results, as stated by the state’s epidemologist Austin Ojotule on Sunday, February 9. Of the confirmed cases, two are from Ibaji local government, two from Okene, three from Idah, and one each from Okehi and Igalamela Local Government Areas. Presently, a total of 177 contacts have been line-listed with ongoing contact tracing and follow-up.
