The presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, secured a resounding victory in the presidential election in Abia state.
At the INEC state office in Umuahia, the state returning officer for the presidential election, Prof. Abel Ezeorah of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Alike-Ikwo (FUNAI), announced the results. Obi emerged victorious with 327,095 votes out of the 381,683 total votes cast.
Meanwhile, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar secured 22,676 votes, and APC’s Bola Tinubu garnered a total of 8,914 votes, landing in third place.
