Lagos state government dismisses claims of lifting lockdown order for Easter celebration

The claims of lifting the lockdown order for Easter celebration in Lagos state have been dismissed by the state government. The government clarified that the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic is still in effect and only the Federal government has the authority to lift it. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has not relaxed any lockdown and the state Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, emphasized the importance of obeying the directive to fight the disease. President Buhari had announced the lockdown on the state on March 29th as a measure to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
