Lagos police confirms lady who went missing after boarding BRT has been found dead

The Lagos State Police Command has officially confirmed that Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22-year-old woman who went missing while on a BRT bus on February 26, has been discovered deceased.

According to a statement from CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the spokesperson of the state police command, the body was found on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island. The statement also mentioned that the corpse has been taken to the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for a postmortem examination.

The family has been notified, and they have identified the body as that of Oluwabamise Ayanwole. The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, expressed deep condolences on behalf of the management, officers, and staff of the command. Additionally, the statement affirmed that despite the tragic loss, the investigators will continue their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

The statement assured the public and the family that they are making progress in the pursuit of the culprits, expressing confidence in the eventual arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the heinous act.
