Lagos community commends LASBCA’s intervention in Royal Estate conflict

Acknowledging the swift mediation by the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, residents and stakeholders of Royal Estate, Phase 1, Isheri-Olofin, Lagos State, express their appreciation for his role in resolving a recent dispute in their community.

In a statement released on Tuesday and signed by the estate’s Chairman, Williams Adeyemi, the community thanked Oki for stepping in and facilitating a satisfactory resolution of the issues at hand.

Recent reports by NewsNow highlighted controversies surrounding the enforcement of building regulations by the Lagos State Building Control Agency, with allegations of excessive force and human rights violations in their interactions with residents and property owners.

An incident on July 1, 2024, in Royal Estate, Phase 1, Isheri-Olofin, where alleged brutal actions were taken by LASBCA officials in demolishing structures, raised concerns and calls for an investigation into the agency’s methods.
