Labour MP Kate Osborne tests positive for coronavirus, becoming the second British politician affected

Announcing her positive coronavirus test on Twitter, Kate Osborne revealed that she has contracted the virus.

Having only been an MP since December, the Labour MP becomes the second British politician to be affected by the virus, while 16 others are self-isolating.

Kate Osborne, representing Jarrow, received her diagnosis following Health Minister Nadine Dorries’ positive test and subsequent self-isolation. Dorries, 62, is currently recovering at home.

After a period of self-isolation, Ms. Osborne tested positive for the coronavirus, stating, “I will continue to self-isolate until I have fought off the illness, but in the mean time I would encourage everyone to band together and support the most vulnerable in our communities.”
