The devastating fires in Australia have resulted in the deaths of numerous animals across the country, along with the loss of at least 23 lives and around 1500 homes. Reports indicate that the fires show minimal signs of abating, leaving more residents missing.
In an effort to raise awareness and express solidarity with the people of Australia, Kylie reposted a message on social media highlighting the impact of the fires on animal lives.
Kylie’s Instagram stories featured an image of a koala being rescued by a fireman alongside the caption “Over half a billion animals have been killed in Australia. This breaks my heart.”
Mere 12 hours later, she posted an image of £1,080 Louis Vuitton real mink fur slippers, which provoked outrage among her followers. They labeled her as a “hypocrite” and criticized her for being “so disconnected it’s unreal”.
A Twitter user called out the 22-year-old billionaire, stating: “Crying about Koalas dying while literally wearing the skin of this animal as slippers on her feet. Can she just shut the f*** up already?!”
Others criticized Kylie and her sisters as “ignorant”, claiming that “they just don’t care about world problems”.
