Kogi’s 8th Assembly to Exceed Prior Achievements, says Judiciary Committee Chairman Adejoh

Expressing optimism about the potential of the House to surpass the achievements of previous assemblies, Halidu Adejoh Usman, the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary and Justice and the representative of Idah constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, emphasized the commitment of lawmakers to passing impactful bills.

Following a public hearing on various bills at the Kogi State Assembly complex in Lokoja on Monday, Usman spoke to journalists and highlighted the importance of involving stakeholders in discussions before finalizing bills to ensure they serve the public effectively.

Discussing some of the bills reviewed during the hearing, Usman emphasized the significance of an anti-corruption bill, noting the importance of self-regulation to prevent corruption within the state. He also mentioned the efforts to establish an electricity regulatory agency to address issues with service providers and protect consumers’ rights.

Usman also highlighted the coordination within the current eighth Assembly, expressing confidence in the Assembly’s ability to surpass the achievements of its predecessors.
