In a recent podcast appearance, young Nigerian singer Khaid asserted that he possesses several accomplishments that outshine those of Hip Hop icon Odumodublvck.
His statement followed a social media dispute with the rapper regarding their Headies nomination for Rookie of the Year.
While acknowledging Odumodublvck as a talented artist, the “With You” singer insisted that he surpasses him in achievements and recognition.
According to Khaid, the Declan Rice hitmaker still lacks certain accomplishments and “flowers” that he possesses.
Expressing his stance, he stated, “He is good but he is not better than me.”
Origins of the conflict
The tensions arose in July when Tochukwu Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, and Khaid engaged in a social media battle over their chances of winning Rookie of the Year at the upcoming 16th annual Headies Award.
Twitter influencer Asiwaju Lerry initiated the discussion by asking the online community to pick between Khaid and Odumodublvck for the award, along with other nominated artists like Eltee Skhillz, Bayanni, Guchi, and Bloody Civilian.
“If Headies Rookie of the year was down to Khaid and Odumodublvck, who is winning?” he inquired.
In response, Khaid emphasized that the statistics and numbers supported his worthiness for the award.
“Evian pass Evian, Check d numbers & do the math,” he tweeted.
Feeling insulted by the tweet, Odumodublvck threatened to physically confront the singer.
Subsequently, Khaid used the Hip Hop artist’s lyrics to retaliate, asserting, “Ebelebe Runner…Na me be your father”
Khaid also defended his lyrics against criticism and advised others to focus on self-improvement, stating, “It’s good that people learn to respect and work on themselves; those weak lyrics are performing better than your entire existence ‼️. 18 year old boy wey de tension una 💀”
