The head coach of Sunshine Stars, Kennedy Boboye, believes his team’s triumph in the South West derby against Remo Stars was hard-earned.
Despite the win, Boboye acknowledged the determined performance of their opponents during the match.
In the game, Chinedu Nwosu scored two goals for Sunshine Stars, propelling them to 11th place in the league standings.
The defeat dashed Remo Stars’ aspirations of clinching their first Nigeria Premier Football League title.
Reflecting on the victory, Boboye expressed his satisfaction, stating, “It’s a satisfying win for us, well deserved. I’m pleased with the outcome, but we must stay focused as we still have two more matches to go. Credit to our opponents, they really put up a good fight,” Boboye shared with the club’s media team.
Sunshine Stars are set to take on Doma United in a rescheduled fixture on Wednesday.
