Kemi Filani Reports: Gbajabiamila Poised for Resignation

According to Channels Television, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to resign as a lawmaker on the floor of the House of Representatives today.

Tinubu appointed Gbajabiamila as CoS on June 2. Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House, won the Surulere I Federal Constituency election for the sixth time on February 25 as a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

However, concerns have been raised about how Gbajabiamila will balance both roles, considering that he was inaugurated as the former Speaker for the 10th Assembly on Tuesday.

Today, Gbajabiamila will resign, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may conduct a fresh election to fill the role.
