Katsina State Governor Accuses Government Officials of Involvement in Banditry

According to Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, there is evidence to suggest that certain government officials and security personnel are complicit in the rise of insecurity and banditry across the country.

These startling allegations were made by the governor during an appearance on Channels Television’s program, Politics Today, last Friday.

Governor Radda highlighted the challenges in eradicating banditry in Nigeria, describing it as now operating as a lucrative “business venture.”

He pointed out, “It has transformed into a profitable business, attracting criminals within the government ranks, security forces, and individuals entrusted with the welfare of their communities.”

Expressing his frustration, the governor stated, “There are numerous factors that impede our efforts to stamp out banditry.”

However, Governor Radda clarified that the motives driving banditry are not linked to political agendas.

He asserted, “The notion that political interests are fueling banditry is unfounded.”

Furthermore, the governor revealed that many young individuals from the northern region are lured into banditry with offers as low as N500.
