Katsina State Government Declares Friday as Public Holiday

The decision to declare Friday, April 12, 2024, as a non-working day in Katsina State has been announced by the state government to allow workers to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan fasting. This announcement was made in a statement signed by Governor Dikko Radda and shared with journalists by the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango.

The Governor emphasized that the additional holiday aims to enable workers in the state to fully engage in the Sallah festivities with their families. This decision comes after the Federal Government extended the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11.

The statement, titled ‘Eid-Fitr: Gov Dikko Radda Declares Friday, 12th April, 2024, Work-Free Day,’ conveyed, “His Excellency, Governor Dikko Umar Radda, has designated Friday, April 12, 2024, as a day off work.

“The Katsina State Government’s decision aligns with the Federal Government’s extension of the Eid-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, the 11th of this month.

“Governor Radda’s objective is to ensure that workers in the state can fully immerse themselves in the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations with their families.

Governor Radda extends his warm wishes to the people of Katsina State for a joyful and peaceful Sallah celebration. He urges everyone to prioritize security, offer prayers for peace within the state and the nation, as they commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festivities.

The Governor also calls upon the state’s residents to prioritize security measures and pray for peace to prevail throughout the state and the entire nation during the festive period.
