Kanye West’s Generosity: $2 Million Donation and a College Fund for George Floyd’s Daughter

Kanye West has contributed $2 million to support the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbrery, and Breonna Taylor in the aftermath of their tragic deaths.

The 42-year-old rap mogul, who has chosen to observe a social media silence amid the ongoing protests following George Floyd’s death, has also established a college fund to provide for the education of Floyd’s six-year-old daughter, Gianna Floyd.

A spokesperson confirmed Kanye West’s substantial donation to CNN, and also disclosed that Kanye offered to cover the legal expenses for the families of Arbery and Taylor. Additionally, he pledged to offer financial support to Black-owned businesses in his hometown of Chicago.

These charitable acts follow criticism on Twitter aimed at the rapper for his silence regarding the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of George Floyd’s killing and the deaths of other African-Americans.
