Kano State Police Apprehends Man in Connection with Co-worker’s Death


A 32-year-old James Isma’il was taken into custody by the Kano State Police Command for the suspected murder of his colleague during an altercation at the Fas Agro Sacks Company, located in Sharada Ja’in Quarters, Kano State.

The disclosure was made in a statement released by the state’s public relations officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Sunday.

As per the statement, a distress call was received on January 21, around 8:30 am via the command’s emergency number.

It was reported that a physical altercation erupted between two employees of the Fas Agro Sacks Company, situated in the Sharada Ja’in Quarters of Kano, leading to the unfortunate death of 32-year-old Tukur Adamu.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, has given an assurance of thorough investigation and the prosecution of the suspect.

The statement includes, “On the 21st of January 2024, at approximately 08:30 am, a distress call was received through the Command’s emergency number; 08032419754, reporting a confrontation between two employees of Fas Agro Sacks Company at Sharada Ja’in Quarters Kano, resulting in the demise of Tukur Adamu, 32.

“The situation was promptly brought under control, and the suspects were transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for discreet investigation. The statement also urges the citizens of the State to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

“Upon arrival at the scene, the body was swiftly transported to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where a medical doctor pronounced the individual deceased, meanwhile, the suspect, James Isma’il, aged 32 years, ‘m’, was apprehended. Furthermore, thirteen (13) of the assailants have been arrested thus far.”
