Kano state government extends lockdown for an additional week as COVID-19 death toll reaches 32

President Buhari imposed a two-week total lockdown in Kano State to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Now, the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced an extension of the lockdown by one more week to further control the spread of the virus, as stated by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba.

 

Monday, May 11, saw an additional six COVID-19 related deaths in Kano, bringing the total death toll to 32.

Kano state currently has 666 confirmed COVID-19 cases, making it the state with the second-highest number of infected individuals after Lagos, which remains the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria with 1933 confirmed cases.
