Another disturbing incident unfolded in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as Kano Pillars chairman Alhaji Surajo Yahaya Jambul was captured punching an assistant referee during a match against Dakkada.
The altercation took place towards the end of the game, after Dakkada FC scored a late equalizer, leading to the chairman’s violent reaction towards the assistant referee.
The goal scored by Dakkada FC was later disallowed after the center referee consulted the assistant referee who was punched by Jambul.

This incident is the latest in a series of violent occurrences in the NPFL, with previous incidents involving physical attacks on referees.
Recently, in May, a center referee was assaulted by an MFM fan during a game against Enugu Rangers, prompting concerns over the growing trend of violence in Nigerian football.
