Kaduna CAN Calls for Restraint Amidst Killings and Property Destruction in Hunger Protest

In response to the ongoing hunger protest, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State chapter, has urged Nigerians to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

Emphasizing the need for Christians in the state to remain steadfast during these challenging times, Rev. Ma’aji Caleb, the chairman of the state CAN, stated in a released statement that the nation has experienced a standstill due to the protest.

Reflecting on the current situation, Rev. Caleb highlighted the importance of fostering an ideal nationhood amidst the turmoil.

He acknowledged the leadership’s alignment with the national position on the protest, stating, “We deeply value the conduct of the Christian communities we lead, appreciating their civil and peaceful participation in the protest.”

Expressing concern over the violence that erupted in some states during the protest, resulting in loss of lives and properties, Rev. Caleb extended sympathy to the affected families.

He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the call for civility and peace while participating in any form of protest.
