Jude Bellingham Acknowledges Backroom Staff for ‘Wolf’ Celebration with Alexander-Arnold

Following his goal in England’s 1-0 victory over Serbia in Euro 2024, Jude Bellingham credited the backroom staff for his unique celebration with Trent Alexander-Arnold, referring to it as a nod of appreciation. Bellingham’s standout performance earned him the man-of-the-match title in Gelsenkirchen, shining on an otherwise lackluster opening night for the ‘Three Lions’ in Germany.

Scoring a header on the 13th minute from Bukayo Saka’s deflection, the 20-year-old celebrated by bowing on one knee alongside Alexander-Arnold, both covering their faces with one hand.

Explaining the celebration, Bellingham revealed that it stemmed from a game called ‘Wolf’, where a staff member would mimic the pose when confused. The midfielder emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work put in by the staff who don’t receive accolades like the players do.

Describing their off-pitch friendship, Bellingham emphasized the understanding he shares with Alexander-Arnold on the field, particularly as the latter was moved forward by Gareth Southgate, deviating from his usual right-back position at Liverpool.

Impressed by Alexander-Arnold’s control and positive play, Bellingham commended his teammate’s brilliance and expressed optimism about their partnership evolving positively throughout the tournament.

As they embrace each other’s quality and the risk of losing possession, Bellingham highlighted their mutual support and determination to keep playing their game. Their camaraderie and on-field chemistry bode well for England’s campaign in Euro 2024.
