Joint Efforts by Pakistan and Iran to Combat Terrorism

An agreement has been reached between Pakistan and Iran to address the issue of terrorism, including the imposition of bans on certain organizations within their respective territories, as announced by the Pakistani Interior Ministry.

The decision was made during a meeting between Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterparts, Ahmad Vahidi and Amin-Hossein Rahimi, the Justice Minister of Iran.

According to a statement by the ministry, both countries have agreed upon a collaborative action plan to combat terrorism, enhance mutual support, and facilitate the exchange of intelligence.

Furthermore, it was revealed that a security agreement between the two nations will be signed promptly.

In addition to these measures, both parties have agreed to lift fines on their respective nationals who are detained in the other country. They have also pledged to strengthen cooperation in border management to curb activities like smuggling and drug trafficking.

These discussions took place while the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was leading a high-level delegation on a visit to Pakistan from April 22 to 24.
