Jigawa State Governor, Namadi, Enforces 24-Hour Curfew


Effective from today, Thursday, August 1st, 2024, the Jigawa State Government has officially imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state until further notice.

In an address to the people of Jigawa State on Friday evening, Governor Mallam Umar Namadi announced the implementation of the curfew statewide.

Governor Namadi specified that the curfew will be temporarily lifted on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, between 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm to allow the Muslim community to observe the Friday (Juma’at) prayer.

He emphasized that no vehicles will be allowed for transportation to the mosque during this time.

Furthermore, the Governor mentioned that the decision will be reassessed following an evaluation of the situation at hand.
