Jigawa Governor’s Decision to Sack Government Parastatals’ Boards

With immediate effect, the Governor of Jigawa state, Umar Namadi, has removed the Boards and Chief Executive Officers of government agencies. The announcement was made by Muhammad Dagaceri, the Permanent Secretary, Administration and Finance, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, in a statement released on Wednesday, June 14.

Career executive secretaries, Managing Directors, and General Managers are not affected by the sack. The statement clarified, “The governor has relieved the appointments of Managing Directors, General Managers, Executive Secretaries, Chairmen, and Members of Board of Agencies/ Parastatals with the exception of Commissioners. The directive also excludes career Managing Directors, General Managers, and Executive Secretaries.”
