Popular pundit Jeff Stelling has made bold predictions for the Premier League standings this season.
Stelling believes that both Manchester United and Chelsea will fall short of securing Champions League qualification.
His top prediction is for Liverpool, now under the management of Arne Slot, to clinch the league title, edging out Manchester City and Arsenal.
In a surprise move, Stelling has chosen Newcastle United as his dark horse to claim the final spot in the top four.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling shared his reasoning, saying, “I have Arsenal in second place, with a different choice for the title winner.
“I am backing Liverpool to be crowned champions. Despite Man City’s strength, I believe they have lost some key players in recent years.
“With various issues looming over them, including pending charges, I see Liverpool, Arsenal, and Man City rounding up the top three positions.”
Stelling then expressed doubts about Manchester United’s squad depth and completely ruled out Chelsea’s chances of a top-four finish.
He also mentioned potential contenders like Spurs, banking on Dominic Solanke’s performance, and Aston Villa, pending their ability to handle Champions League commitments.
Concluding his predictions, Stelling said, “Newcastle faced numerous injuries last season, but if they can stay clear of major setbacks, I believe they can secure that coveted fourth place.”
