James Olayinka, Arsenal’s Nigerian Player, Joins Northampton Town on Loan (Photos)

Northampton Town, a League Two side, has welcomed Nigerian midfielder James Olayinka on loan from Arsenal football club of England.

 

Arsenal, a Premier League giant that holds a high regard for the Nigerian midfielder, has confirmed that the loan is subject to regulatory processes and will last until the end of the season.

Arsenal, while confirming the news on its official website, stated;

“The 19-year-old midfielder joined the club at the age of seven and has progressed through our youth development ranks, making his Premier League 2 debut at the start of the 2018/19 season at the age of just 17.”

“Olayinka’s progress was recognized with a place in the first-team squad’s mid-season trip to Dubai in March 2019. He also traveled on the pre-season tour of the United States in July, where he scored a memorable goal in the win over Colorado Rapids in Denver.”

“The Arsenal academy graduate has made 10 appearances for our U-23s and youth sides this season, scoring in the Premier League 2 against Everton earlier in January.”

“Everyone at the club wishes James the best of luck for his time at Northampton Town, and we look forward to seeing his continued development.”
