Competing with her fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has broken new records in the cinema industry.

Ada Omo Daddy, Mercy Aigbe’s debut movie, has achieved a remarkable success by grossing 30 million naira within just three days of its release. Despite initial doubts and reservations about the project, she expressed gratitude towards her fans and supporters for their overwhelming love and support on Instagram.

Emphasizing her pride and thanking her fans and supporters, Aigbe attributed her success to God, stating, “THIS CAN ONLY BE GOD!!!!!! 🙏MY FIRST MAJOR CINEMA FILM.” She also expressed her determination to set her own records, acknowledging the massive love and support she received from Nigeria and Ghana.

In a separate announcement, Funke Akindele celebrated the success of her movie, A Tribe Called Judah, which grossed over 122 million naira in the cinema. She expressed her gratitude to God, the cast and crew, and Nigerians for their support, highlighting the significant achievements of the film in the cinematic landscape of 2023.

A Tribe Called Judah has earned several accolades, including being the number one film in Nigeria and West Africa, the biggest opening for a Funke Akindele film, and Nollywood’s biggest opening of all time.
