ISWAP Terrorists Capturing Kuje Correctional Centre

Responsibility for the raid on the Kuje Medium Custodial Centre has been claimed by the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists.

In a recent invasion, terrorists released over 600 prisoners, including 15 Boko Haram commanders, from the Medium Security Custodial Centre.

Other inmates also seized the opportunity to flee from the facility.

According to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), out of the 879 escaped inmates, 443 have been recaptured, while 551 remain at large. The facility currently holds 551 inmates, with 4 dead and 16 injured.

Additionally, an officer of the NSCDC lost his life in the incident, and at least 8 NCoS officers were wounded.

The terrorist sect released a video on Wednesday night, showing their members forcing their way into the facility.

Furthermore, a 38-second video by the terrorist group reveals fighters marching in groups amidst a backdrop of burning vehicles and buildings.
