Israeli defense minister issues warning to Lebanon amid rising tensions

Issuing a robust caution to Lebanon, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared that Israel would combat Hezbollah with full force if the militia continued its aggressive actions.

Gallant conveyed that Israel is committed to seeking peace, prosperity, and stability on both sides of the northern border, emphasizing that Hezbollah’s destabilizing activities would not be tolerated.

Warning that Israel will not hesitate to engage in conflict should Hezbollah persist in its aggression, Gallant stressed, “Those who provoke confrontations should be prepared for the consequences.”

The recent escalation follows the deaths of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah’s top military commander Fuad Shukr in Tehran, intensifying the risk of a significant conflict in the Middle East.

Threats of retaliation against Israel have emerged from Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas, leading to frequent exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel to support Hamas since the outbreak of the Gaza war.

Tragic clashes have resulted in a high number of civilian casualties in both Lebanon and Israel, with over 350 Hezbollah members and Israeli soldiers losing their lives.

The escalating situation has forced tens of thousands of residents on either side of the border to flee their homes.
