After his recent defeat to Dricus Du Plessis, Nigerian-born UFC star Israel Adesanya received a warm reception upon his arrival in Lagos on Wednesday.
The announcement was made by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission on X.com during the same day.
Accompanied by his parents, Adesanya was greeted at the airport by the NiDCOM team.
The NiDCOM shared videos of Adesanya’s arrival, stating, “Earlier today, the Nigerian-born New Zealand Professional Kickboxer, Israel Mobolaji Temitayo Odunayo Oluwafemi Owolabi Adesanya (#stylebender) landed in Lagos, accompanied by his parents and was warmly welcomed by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM staff.”
It is remembered that Adesanya suffered a fourth-round submission defeat against South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis in their middleweight title fight at UFC 305 in Perth over the weekend.
