Investigation Launched by DSS into Breach of President Buhari’s Security in Kebbi

An announcement has been made by the Department of State Services stating that its personnel will face sanctions following the breach in President Buhari’s security at the Argungu Fishing Festival in Kebbi.

During the event last week, Mohammed Guddare made a failed attempt to initiate an unauthorized handshake with President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement released on Sunday, March 15, DSS Spokesperson Dr. Peter Afunanya mentioned that after reviewing the video, the personnel were found to have been negligent in their duties.

He stated;

“The service has reviewed the video of the incident and is taking measures against its personnel found to have been negligent in their duties.”

Afunanya also denied the claim that the intruder was killed by presidential details for breaching security protocols. He mentioned that preliminary investigations have indicated that Guddare is not a hostile person, but rather an overenthusiastic supporter of the president.
