Renowned transfer market specialist, Luca Marchetti, has shed light on the future of Nigerian football star, Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen and Napoli have decided to go their separate ways after the current season, sparking rumors of potential transfers to clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG.
As part of Osimhen’s contract, Napoli has set a release clause of 130 million euros.
Recent reports from Italy suggest that a potential deal involving Osimhen heading to Chelsea in the summer could see Romelu Lukaku being included as part of the agreement.
Lukaku, who has had stints at Inter Milan and AS Roma, is being looked at by Chelsea for a permanent departure.
Marchetti stated that Napoli is keen on having Lukaku included in any deal with Chelsea for Osimhen.
According to Marchetti’s statement on Spazio Napoli, “It is a strategic approach to build interest around Osimhen: this is a necessary move for Napoli. PSG, busy with the Champions League, has not initiated talks yet.”
He added, “It is crucial for Napoli to explore alternative options to avoid being pressured by potential buyers due to Osimhen’s desire to leave.”
Marchetti also mentioned, “Lukaku’s potential inclusion is not directly linked to Conte’s rumored arrival, similar to how it wasn’t a factor in Roma’s dealings last season.”
He concluded, “Players like Dovbyk, Gyökeres, and David show promise, but their adaptability to a different style of play and league like Italian football remains to be seen.”
