INEC de-registers 74 political parties

INEC, the Independent National Electoral Commission, has de-registered 74 political parties and left just 18 others.

 

At a news conference in Abuja on Thursday February 6th, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, announced this decision.

 

The commission conducted a review of the performance of political parties after the 2019 general elections to determine their qualification status.

AAP – Advanced Allied Party

ABP – All Blending Party

ACD- Advanced Congress Of Democrats

ACPN – Allied Congress Party Of Nigeria

AD – Alliance For Democracy
