INEC: 5,169,692 Voters with PVC to Participate in Bayelsa, Kogi, Imo Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that a total of 5,169,692 registered voters who have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will cast their votes in the upcoming governorship polls in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo States. This statement was made by INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun.

As part of the announcement, INEC also revealed that there are 239,746 uncollected PVCs in the three states. Bayelsa has 39,249 uncollected PVCs, Imo has 101,003, and Kogi has 99,494.

Olumekun added, “The Commission met today, Monday 30th October 2023, specifically to review the ongoing preparations for the off-cycle Governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023.”

He further stated, “As was done in recent elections, including the 2023 general election, the commission is publishing the comprehensive information on the collected and uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards in the three states on a polling unit basis.”
