Impact of Coronavirus: Wendy Williams Show, Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, and Late Night With Seth Meyers Suspended

The Wendy Williams Show has been put on hold indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Initially, it was announced that upcoming episodes of the show would be shot without a studio audience. However, it has now been revealed that the show will be on hold indefinitely.

 

The Wendy Williams Show made this announcement on Instagram, stating: “Considering the current escalation of the Coronavirus, production of The Wendy Williams Show will be out on hold, indefinitely.

 

“In place of live shows, we will air repeats and we will continue to monitor the situation with the CDC and city officials to determine the best time to return and produce live shows again.”

NBC’s late-night programs have also decided to suspend taping until further notice.

 

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night With Seth Meyers have paused production through March 30, with the potential for extension.

The suspension of filming was announced in a statement posted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’s Twitter account.

It read: “We’ve been monitoring the current situation here in New York and the safety of our staff, crew, guests and our studio audiences are our top priority.

“For that reason, we have decided that we will not tape any new shows effective Friday, March 13.

Jimmy Fallon, 45, will tape his final show before the break tonight and will begin airing repeats tomorrow.

 

Official decisions about the programs will be made later this month.
