Father of Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, discussed the last moments he spent with her. Mr. Akintunde Arotile recounted his last conversation with his daughter, Tolulope, who tragically passed away at the age of 25 due to head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at NAF Base Kaduna.

In an emotional interview with Sahara Reporters, her grieving father revealed that he had spoken to her on the phone at 1:00pm, and by 5:00pm, he received the devastating news of her demise. He emphasized the shock of speaking with her just four hours prior to her being in the mortuary.

He further explained that the heartbreaking news led him to immediately drive to Lokoja, Kogi State, from Abuja to inform his wife about the tragic incident.
Recalling the early days of Tolulope, Mr. Akintunde Arotile recalled her determination to become a pilot. He expressed gratitude that she was able to fulfill her dream before her untimely death. He recounted her academic journey and her successful pursuit of a career as a pilot, expressing his thankfulness that she achieved her dreams before her passing.
