An arrested pickpocket in Lagos has confessed to making regular sacrifices of cocks every three days to ensure the potency of his magic rings. The 25-year-old suspect, Francis Monday, was apprehended by the Lagos State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). He disclosed that the rings, obtained from an Islamic cleric, were empowered to facilitate his theft activities without detection.
Francis vividly recounted his encounter with the Islamic cleric who provided him with the enchanted rings and prescribed the sacrificial ritual. He explained that the cleric instructed him to renew the rings’ potency by sacrificing a cock every three days. Francis also claimed that the rings enabled him to detect individuals with money and clandestinely extract it from their possession.
Additionally, Francis revealed that he refrained from renting an apartment to avoid arousing suspicion about his ill-gotten wealth. Instead, he resided with a friend in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos. His criminal activities came to a halt after he failed to steal from a victim who had protective charms, leading to his arrest on December 19, 2019.
The Lagos State Police Spokesperson, Elkana Bala, has confirmed the suspect’s arrest and stated that he will be prosecuted once the investigation is concluded. The suspect’s chilling admission underscores the dangerous implications of criminal activities intertwined with occult practices.
