Nollywood performer, Mary Remmy Njoku has taken to web-based media to express her disappointment about the situation in the country.

Ever since President Tinubu assumed office, rather than improving, there has been an incessant rise in fuel and food prices.

Sharing her receipt on her Instagram page, Mary Njoku revealed that she paid 664 nairas for the toll booth.

The mother of three wondered if this has become the standard or if she was deceived.

She observed how it now requires more than the minimum monthly salary to fill a car’s tank.

Mary Njoku concluded by asking how individuals are managing to survive.

“I just paid 664 nairas for the toll booth. Has it become this way? Or did they deceive me? It now requires more than the minimum monthly salary to fill a car’s tank. How are individuals surviving?”.

In a late-night post, Mary asked if her fans were awake as she had been unable to sleep due to the country’s increasing problem. She also wondered how they were coping with the economic downturn.

Mary observed how fuel is scarce, inadequate security, lack of cash flow, and much more.

“Who is awake?

The problem in Nigeria is becoming unbearable.

No money. No fuel. No security. Nothing!!

The situation has robbed me of sleep”.

In a more positive note, Mary Remmy Njoku was extremely delighted after being recognized by the esteemed American magazine, Forbes.

Forbes unveiled its annual list of the 50 most influential women in Africa.

The list consisted of women from various sectors and industries. From the business world to media, healthcare, politics, and more.

Appearing in the magazine this year were Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chimamanda Adichie, Mo Abudu, Chioma Ude, Bolanle Austen Peters, Mary Remmy Njoku, and others.

Mary Njoku, who couldn’t believe she made it to the esteemed magazine, took to her Instagram page to express gratitude to her husband.

An excited Mary mentioned how she started as a Mile2-born Nnsukka girl before becoming a prominent figure.

Mary Njoku expressed her appreciation to her husband, who she referred to as her ‘Halo’.
