‘Have you ever seen such a sea of humanity in your entire life?’ Iran’s Foreign Minister taunts Trump after thousands gathered to mourn Soleimani

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, has used Twitter to mock US President Donald Trump following the massive gathering of hundreds of thousands of Iranians in Tehran to mourn the death of General Qassem Soleimani. Soleimani was killed by a US drone strike ordered by Trump.

Zarif, who played a key role in negotiating the Iran Nuclear deal with the Obama Administration, described the size of the crowd as symbolic, suggesting that it signals the impending end of US military presence in the Middle East.

He urged Trump to distance himself from advisers seeking confrontation with Iran and questioned whether Trump believed he could break the will of the Iranian nation.

The ceremony honoring the slain Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani marked the first time that Iran has conducted a multi-city ceremony for a single individual.
