Sheik Akewugbagold conveyed this distressing news in a post on his Facebook page.

”WHAT A COUNTRY! My twins were kidnapped at gunpoint from my home in Ojoo, Ibadan, around 8 pm on Saturday, 10 minutes after I had left for a lecture recording in a studio. I appeal to everyone, for the sake of Allah, to pray for me and plead with the abductors to show mercy, especially to their mother who had been barren for 12 years. I am not asking for anything else. Here are their pictures. Please help circulate widely. Oh my God! Contact me on 08035066122 only if you have any information about their whereabouts, not for greetings or missed calls. Thank you,” he wrote.

Confirming the incident to LIB, SP Fadeyi Olugbenga, the spokesperson for the state police command, assured that concerted efforts are underway to secure the safe recovery of the twins and reunite them with their distraught parents.

”As soon as it happened last night, there was a substantial deployment to cordon off various areas. The Anti-Kidnapping squad is tirelessly working to apprehend the criminals and ensure the safe return of the twins to their family,” he said.
