Guardiola’s warning to EPL and FIFA on Man City players’ well-being

Football’s “big bosses” at FIFA and the Premier League have been criticized by Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, regarding the welfare of his players.

The current Premier League champions are currently on their pre-season tour in the USA with a squad that is lacking in key players.

This shortage is due to the fact that many of the first-team players participated in international tournaments during the summer and have not joined the team for pre-season.

In discussions with reporters, Guardiola expressed concerns that City may not be able to adequately prepare for the upcoming season.

He mentioned, “We will be arriving late not only for the match against Manchester United in the Community Shield, but also for games against Chelsea and Ipswich. Our preparation will be delayed. Our aim is to minimize point losses and compete effectively. We are missing players as they need rest.

“If the big bosses and governing bodies like FIFA, UEFA, and the Premier League do not prioritize the players, managers must step in to avoid dire consequences. The workload is excessive.

“That’s why a three-week or one-month break is essential, but the demands of the competition require adaptation.”
