Group Urges President Tinubu to Address Challenges Faced by Nigerians

An appeal has been made by the Osun Masterminds (TOM) to the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the numerous challenges facing Nigeria.

During the March edition of the State of the State address in Osogbo, TOM’s Executive Director, Prof Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, highlighted issues such as the deteriorating state of the Ilesa-Ibadan expressway, food inflation, and power shortages that are burdening ordinary Nigerians on a daily basis.

Focusing on the deplorable condition of the Ilesa-Ibadan expressway, Oyedokun-Alli stressed the urgent need for its rehabilitation, describing it as a dangerous road for motorists.

The group appealed to President Tinubu to prioritize efforts to combat food inflation, which has resulted in significant financial strain for Nigerians due to the escalating food prices.

In their pleas to the Federal Government, the group stated:

“We urge the FG to promptly address the urgent rehabilitation of the Ibadan–Ilesa expressway, which has become a hazard.”

“Efforts to curb food inflation must be intensified by the Federal Government to alleviate the economic pressure on Nigerians caused by rising food costs.”

“Recognizing the impact of fuel prices on the overall economy, we call on the FG to expedite actions on local refineries to ensure affordable fuel for Nigerians.”

Additionally, the group called for the removal of Power Minister Bayo Adelabu due to the Ministry’s failure in effectively managing the power sector, leading to worsening electricity supply and increased hardship for the populace.

Expressing their concern over the situation, the group emphasized:

“We urge President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider appointing Mr. Bayo Adelabu as the Minister of Power, given the deteriorating electricity situation in the country.”

“The Minister’s inability to provide the necessary leadership in managing the power sector underscores the urgent need for his removal or reassignment to a more suitable role.”
