A puppy named Guardian showed unwavering loyalty by refusing to leave his deceased sister’s side on a road despite the arrival of authorities to the scene.
Guardian’s sister was tragically found dead on a road in Texas, USA. However, the Catahoula mix demonstrated his dedication by staying by her side when officials from Kingsville-Kleberg Health Department Animal Control & Care Center arrived.
According to eyewitnesses, the American dog growled at the animal control officer when he placed his paw on top of his sibling.
Photographs captured by the officers depict Guardian’s protective stance as they attempted to approach the pair.
Sharing the incident on Facebook, Kingsville-Kleberg Health Department Animal Control & Care Center wrote, “This boy wasn’t going to let anyone mess with his sister. Our ACOs had a hard time convincing him everything was going to be alright and they were there to help him.”
The statement continued, “This call was one of the most heart-wrenching for our staff, but we thought we’d share some behind the scene images of situations they are faced with on a regular basis. He will be held on stray hold for the required 4 days. We have already scheduled an adoption at 8 am on the day he becomes available (May 29).”
Following the incident, they explained, “He’s still a little confused about what happened, but at least he is now in a safe place with fresh cool water and a belly full of food.”
