A brutal incident unfolded in Sapele, Delta State, on Thursday as a young man identified as Tega fell victim to a fatal attack by cultists.
The violence erupted when a cult leader demanded money from a rival member as “protection money.” When the demand was refused, the rival member faced severe injury, inciting retaliation from his cult. This led to an escalation of violence.
Reports indicate that the deceased tried to flee from the New Road area of the town to Irato Road but was eventually caught and subjected to the deadly attack.
