Expressing his confidence in his former team, Granit Xhaka believes that Arsenal has what it takes to clinch the Premier League title this season.
In a recent statement, the Swiss international commended Mikel Arteta’s team for their sterling performance in the ongoing campaign, especially considering their narrow miss to Manchester City in the previous season.
Xhaka, who departed Arsenal during the summer transfer window to Bayer Leverkusen for a reported sum of £21.4 million, shared his optimism in an interview with German outlet Kicker.
“Certainly. The recent result between Liverpool and City was pleasing to see. When you’ve spent seven memorable years at a club, there’s always that connection. Unfortunately, we fell short last year, but hopefully, this season will bring success,” Xhaka remarked.
He continued, “The team’s current form is exceptional, having secured victories in all eight of their recent matches. The momentum is on their side!”
Arsenal currently leads the Premier League standings, narrowly edging past Liverpool on goal difference.
