Governor Sani and Traditional Rulers in Kaduna Stand Against Protests Amidst Nigeria’s Hardships

Addressing the planned protests in Nigeria, Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, along with traditional rulers and other stakeholders, expressed disapproval, emphasizing the Federal Government’s dedication to tackling present challenges.

During a town hall meeting in the state, Governor Uba Sani voiced concerns about the economic struggles faced by Nigerians, attributing them to years of economic mismanagement, corruption, and lack of accountability. Despite this, he reassured the public that President Tinubu is diligently working to rectify the situation and revive the economy for the benefit of the nation and its citizens.

Highlighting the government’s efforts to revamp the economy, he acknowledged the temporary pains associated with policy implementation, emphasizing the necessity of such measures given the critical state of the country’s economy. He urged support for the President’s patriotic initiatives aimed at rejuvenating the economy and bringing joy back to Nigerians.

He emphasized the joint commitment of the federal and state governments in addressing developmental and security issues across the nation. In Kaduna State, particular attention is being given to combatting security challenges like banditry, insurgency, and kidnapping, recognizing the severe implications of insecurity on various aspects of citizens’ lives.

Stressing the importance of stability and unity, he called for reflection, rational thinking, patriotism, and collective sacrifices to navigate through these challenging times and focus on a brighter future.

Governor Sani asserted that there are no plans for protests in Kaduna State, affirming the police’s responsibility to maintain peace and order. He underlined the region’s solidarity in rejecting any potential protests, emphasizing the value placed on peace and the commitment to safeguarding it.

During the town hall meeting, speakers unanimously opposed mass actions in Kaduna State, citing past negative experiences with protests and advocating for preventive measures against such events. They lauded the government’s initiatives in enhancing security, addressing developmental gaps, and promoting citizen engagement through platforms like town hall meetings.

The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Amb. Nuhu Bamalli, urged caution among Kaduna State residents, advising them to embrace peace and heed wise counsel to avoid the repercussions witnessed in some African nations where protests led to widespread destruction and destabilization.
