Governor Obaseki Announces Members of Civil Service Commission and Permanent Secretaries

In a recent development, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has given the approval for the appointment of individuals to the State Civil Service Commission. Leading the commission is Lalla Aluyi as Chairman.

Furthermore, the governor has sanctioned the appointment of two new Permanent Secretaries to assume roles within the State Public Service.

These appointments were conveyed through separate statements endorsed by the State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa.

In reference to the Civil Service Commission, Okungbowa stated, “Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, utilizing his powers as conferred by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), and other enabling powers, has given his approval for the following individuals to be appointed as members of the Edo State Civil Service Commission.

“The appointed members are Lalla Aluyi (Chairman), Ehi Obaseki (member), Gilbert Adegboyega (member), Julie Olatunji (member), and Margaret Ohiowele (member).”

It was emphasized that these appointments are subject to confirmation by the state House of Assembly.

Regarding the designation of the Permanent Secretaries, Okungbowa expressed, “Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has granted approval for the appointment of Queeneth Orobedo and Ojo Akin-Longe as Permanent Secretaries within the Edo State Public Service as part of the ongoing efforts to revamp the civil/public service of the state:

“Details regarding the swearing-in ceremony for the new Permanent Secretaries will be announced at a later date.”
