Governor Bagudu: Buhari Pleased with Resolution of APC Crisis

In an interview with state house correspondents after the caretaker committee of the APC visited Buhari at the presidential villa on Friday June 26, Governor Atiku Bagudu disclosed that President Buhari is happy that the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been resolved.

Bagudu emphasized that President Buhari does not interfere in the affairs of the party as he is focused on the mandate Nigerians handed to him.

Buhari is pleased that “at last we have one less distraction,” said Bagudu. He stressed that the President’s daily priorities revolve around the economy, security, transparency, and Nigeria’s progress.

Bagudu expressed gratitude to President Buhari and also introduced the brand new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker and Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Abubakar Bello, and Governor Yahaya Bello who were part of the delegation. He thanked the President for his exemplary leadership and the resolution of party disputes.

Additionally, he commended the gains in food security, the ongoing recovery of the economy, accountability, and security improvements across the country. He also appreciated the response to the coronavirus pandemic under Buhari’s leadership.

Bagudu also introduced Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of the Caretaker and Extraordinary National Convention planning Committee, and expressed gratitude for including three governors in the committee.

Regarding the dissolved NWC members seeking redress in court, Bagudu stated, “Mr President is very clear that he received due legal advice and will never sacrifice due process for expediency. He will never do anything against the constitutional provisions of the party or the country.”
