Governor Akeredolu extends medical leave indefinitely

The commencement of his medical leave by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the subsequent extension has been communicated to the State House of Assembly. The governor’s initial plan to resume duties on July 7 has been altered with the extension of his medical leave indefinitely. This decision aligns with Section 190 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), as expressed by the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji. The extension is a result of the doctor’s recommendation for the governor to prioritize rest during his recovery. Akeredolu’s deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will continue to act as governor until there is a written declaration indicating otherwise.
